I am a 19 year old college student, though currently taking a year off, at the University of New Orleans. I am mainly undecided about a major, although I am considering going into the restaurant business. I love cooking more than anything in the world.

My mother is gay, as are many of my friends, and one of the main reasons I am a Democrat is that I don't think they should be denied any rights because of it.

I am also a woman, and as a woman I want to keep my right to have an abortion if the situation arises. I don't know if I were put in the position right now what I would choose to do, but I want to know I have a choice. I don't want the politicians in Washington making that decision for me.

I am also against the "No Child Left Behind" fiasco. I think it's absurd that people expect school and teachers to be held responsible if a child isn't learning. Forget the child being held responsible. I think the saying "You can lead a deer to water but you can't make him drink" says it well. I think you can have amazing teachers but if the child doesn't want to learn or doesn't have the capacity to learn, you shouldn't hold the teacher responsible.

Anyway, that's just about me in a nutshell.

I'm not seeking out a romantic interest, per se. What I'm more looking for is intelligent conversations with politically aware individuals. Be it guy, girl, or hell, even a dog if it could talk about politics. And I mean I don't want to just talk about politics, but as this is a political sort of website . . .
