I am a life long democrat, I guess I would call myself more of a progressive than a lefty. I do believe in capitalism, but a capitalism that is closely regulated by the government. I am liberal on most social issues, I am pro choice, pro gun control, I favor a greater role for government in our nation's health care system, I favor federally funded fetal stem cell research, I think that the rich and corporations should pay their fair share of taxes.
Where foreign policy is concerned I am not a pacifist, but practicing a policy of isolationism and careless agression is the policy of a belligerent adolescent, not a president. Preemptive war is exceedingly dangerous, because other countries will follow our example (perhaps even against us one day). I could go on and on but I think you get the point.
I am professional urban planner, I enjoy cultural activities such as art, music, poetry, theater and also physical activities such as biking, hiking, camping, canoeing, tennis, skiing and more. I like to eat out at ethnic restaurants, I am not a vegetarian but I enjoy vegetarian cooking. I also enjoy reading, movies and having thoughtful and insightful conversation.
I am warm, communicative, have a dry sarcastic sense of humor, affectionate, a good listener, and giving.
