I'm a New Yorker, born and raised, who just moved to the Boston area. I was raised by rabid Democrats, in a very liberal, Democratic environment, and I have had the beliefs I was raised with confirmed over the years, as I see more of the world.

But I'm not just a political person. I enjoy what I do a lot -- teaching and research. I read tons of fiction, including lots of mystery novels and science fiction/fantasy, but also classics and new novels. I love to cook for other people, but usually just have a sandwich on my own. I do Taekwondo, so I can kick the butt of any squirrel in a five mile radius. I'm close to my family and am still friend with people from elementary school.

I'm new to the area and would love to explore it with someone down-to-earth, and silly, who loves dancing and museums and sports and reading, and is generally involved in life.
