I am heartbroken that Kerry lost the election this week! I've always voted for the democratic candidate, though I wouldn't consider myself an ultra liberal. I believe that people should have the ability to make choices about their own bodies & healthcare, regardless of gender, religion or sexual orientation. I think there's room on earth for people of different religions & beliefs. I believe in the democratic ideal of working together & caring for each other - vs. "I've got mine". I also think that we have to do a better job of long-range planning - whether it be working with US allies or reducing our fuel consumption.

I decided to join this group because I'd like to meet more sensitive, interesting & intelligent people who believe in the value of helping others.
