I am a California girl who ended up in Southern MD., through my job. I am NOT staying here. As it would happen, this turned out to be Bush country, and I have never felt more isolated in my whole life (plus the weather is awful year round). Anyway.... I am intelligent, inquisitive, with the heart of an explorer. I like to travel, immerse myself in other cultures, and be outdoors, but I also like to dress up and be a girl on other days. Ancient history, archaeology, geophysics, and genetics are topics that I can't get enough of, and would like to hope I might still make one of them my career. I always want to know how things became the way they are, and am able to see links between different aspects of the world and our society that others may not. The best description of myself I could give would be like a female scientist you might see in the movies - all woman the night before at a gala affair, and the next day climbing a cliff, or exploring ancient ruins (at least when I get the chance). Other times I may be on a farm training to herd sheep with my Border Collie. I guess some might see me as a paradox, but I call it well rounded, and aware. I'm idealistic, and believe in finding ways to make things better, instead of giving in to the way things are. While not that politically active before 2000, I can not help but be very outspoken now. I am continuously horrified beyond belief at what Bush has been aloud to get away with from day one, and after he was permitted to steal the second election I knew for certain I am not really a part of this country anymore. I felt nothing but shame, and disgust that I live here. Howard Dean should have been president, but the government and corporations made sure that didn't happen. In closing, my 21 month old Border Collie is the light of my life, and is NOT expendable. Bottom line, she needs alot of excercise, mental stimulation, and companionship, and I take her with me whenever I can.

I am looking for a man who has similar interests, and that is passionate about new ideas, discoveries, and life. You should be intelligent, with a good understanding of manners, decorum, and boundaries. If we should become best friends, and feel mutually comfortable with, and passionate about each other, then things can progress in other ways. In a nutshell, I can be very open, and easy going, and you should be too, but I also want to be treated with respect. You should love animals, and the environment, and believe in doing what is right. You are someone who knew Bush was very bad news from day one. If you are married, separated, or divorced, but not yet left your marriage, your ex, and/or negative judgements about women behind you, I am NOT interested. I am still hoping to find someone who is my equal, and whom I can experience, and enjoy life with, so you should be relatively fit, and active.
