I'm a politically progressive, semi-complicated, and adventurous kinda woman who is interested in a long-term relationship grounded in open communication and built on fun. Politically progressive --in other words, not only am I more than suspicious of Democrats, who seem to have little to no backbone, but I can envision a world organized in ways completely different from this one and am willing to work to get us there; semi-complicated --everyone over the age of 5 who's at all interesting is at least semi_complicated; and adventurous --I wanted to race cars and jump out of planes as a kid, although now I'm into tamer delights. Plus, I love a good debate, especially over a good bottle of red wine or strong coffee. I've been in lots of relationships, but only one where I was head-over-heels in love and totally committed to this other person. While it didn't survive (for a whole host of reasons), I did learn a lot about myself and cherish who I've become _because_ (not in spite) of it. In other words, I'm not bitter or angry, although like most people, I come with a wee bit of baggage. Passionate would be one word that friends and family would use to describe me. I'm passionate, intense, and dig into pretty much whatever I do or get involved in (except maybe stuff around the house, but that's another story). Yet I can still laugh at myself and the obsurd situations I find myself in. These qualities are deal-breakers for me. The person I'm looking for will have something he's absolutely passionate about, be it work, a hobby, or some interest; and have a silly side. His interests can't just be working out and/or buying things. While I too engage in these pastimes I still maintain that I should be able to squeeze all my belongings (along with myself) into my car and a 10-foot truck. This stance on material things is being challenged by my recent house purchase. Since I don't have gobs of money, this requires that I fix (or attempt to fix) various things, so I have begun to acquire a host of tools, leftover parts, and sundry items gadgets needed to repair appliances and assorted devices. Still I think the 10-foot-truck thing is a good goal.
While I love an array of colors, my wardrobe tends toward black --black shoes, black jeans, black shirts. The only splash of color comes from my earrings and the few fuchsia streaks in my very dark brown hair. Gotta live a little.
