Born on the South Side of Chicago, followed by 12 years in Wisconsin, then 25 in San Francisco. I seem most comfortable in the "liberal" islands of the country. I love to travel, cook, read as well as make art. My friends are very important to me, and I keep them close ( at least in my mind). I've introduced my boys (now 19 and 22)to political activity with participation in local supervisorial races. On their own,they have attended every anti-war rally! I feel that I have been successful in raising boys with political/social awareness while remaining very much their own individual selves.
I'm reaching out into the bigger world again, looking for some new local friends to explore with, to talk with and to play with! Life is about much more than politics, and finding the right balance between the personally satisfying and the socially responsible should result in a generally good time! The photo is of me in a tea house in Iran, just this past April. What a great experience! I love to see places and people for myself whenever I can. I"m even going to Cuba later this year,legally!

Someone who shares many values with me, who can have fun and relax. I am looking for a man who has many talents, who can discuss the state of the world, can,maybe, fix a broken lamp, and who can enjoy and appreciate the arts. I prefer someone taller than I, at least 5'9", but that is about the only physical characteristic I care about. I'd like a man who likes being a man, and appreciates the wonderful differences between the sexes.
