I have spent time living and working in various inner cities.
What started as curiosity about the systems in our country that seem inherently unjust, has turned into relationships with people. I am determined to maintain integrity as a teacher and a US citizen, even as the world changes around me.
I spend my time biking, running, reading, teaching, and playing with clay. I like food a lot, and good wine. I'm currently rehabbing a 100 year old cottage in a racially and socio-economically diverse neighborhood. I've fallen in love with my neighbors and the woodgrain in the floors.

It would be nice to spend time with someone who knows what he believes, but who is open to and even enjoys the challenge of others' opinions. Humor is a must, and is especially attractive when the joke is about himself and is for the purpose of making other people laugh. I would be intrested in someone with loving, quiet strength, confidence, and, of course, integrity, who believes the world is larger than his immediate life--a man who has been through difficult times and has allowed it to make him more loving instead of less.
