I'm the type of person who finds filling out a little box entitled "About Me" a trifle difficult. Perhaps it's because I find the whole process of posting a self-description sort of ridiculous. Is it best to use the stand-alone single word adjective followed by the slammer: "Intelligent! Perceptive! Thoughtful!"; or, is it preferable to write a self-descriptive statement? "I'm a cultured man, who is interested in stimulating exchange, adrift in an area where thoughtfulness, liberalism (of both mind & politics), and engagement in the world often seem to be banished. " Hmmh ... okay ... more later.

Frankly, I think in these times of political benightedness – darkness closing all about in so many ways – it is so important to share an intimate camaraderie. With that said, I won't provide a list of specific attributes I seek. Such a list allows suggests that there's an order of importance implicit in it, when what I seek is an interesting combination of things, attitudes, and characteristics. I'm looking for someone I find attractive (in all senses of the word) but, then, who isn't?; a person who isn't particularly uptight, defensive, or "into themselves". I'd certainly like her to be interested in the arts, ideas, and the world in general, but not overly serious; someone who doesn't bear down on every situation with a dreary intensity. Definitely looking for someone to hang out with and maybe share a few giggles, even if it's at the expense of some of the local yokels. Okay, once again, in the presence of glaring insufficiency, I'll say more later ... definitely a statement under construction.
