I am a professional woman who travels nationally and internationally as part of my job. I enjoy learning about new cultures, places, and people. I see animosity toward our current U.S. political environment almost everywhere I have traveled. The rest of the world is much more progressive and forward thinking than the U.S., except for the Middle East, and they do not want our interference in their way of life.

I can only hope that I can inspire my children to think independently and critically about the world around them and not become one of the many sheep living in this country right now. It is my greatest hope that the many working people soon see that the Republican Party does not have their best interests at heart and are hypocritical in saying that they are 'religious' since their actions are completely antithetical to everything that is espoused in the Bible. As my mother always taught me, actions speak louder than words.

I have a soft side, and enjoy those little, spontaneous actions that mean that you are a thoughtful person. I am not perfect and don't expect anyone else to be. I like to think I am tolerant, forgiving, and a genuinely good person. I like to laugh and have fun.

Things that are important to me: Family, friends, time, clean air, national parks, personal freedoms, privacy, security, independence, seeing my children succeed, being able to provide for my family.

Things I enjoy: The beach, the mountains, traveling, music (any and all), good books, being outdoors, my cats, good food and wine, morning exercise, walking, being with those I care about, sunrises, sunsets, rain on a tin roof, the quiet of the world blanketed in snow, concerts, the theater.

I am seeking a professional, forward-thinking, stable, and financially secure man. He should be interested in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!! He should possess confidence, flexibility, intelligence, and honesty. He must be sincere, kind, strong, and unafraid to speak his mind, but tactful enough to avoid confrontation at inappropriate times.

I am not interested in anyone who professes to be a "hopeless romantic" because that usually means you are a fake. I do want someone who appreciates the value of women, enjoys them as people, and is capable of expressing sincere emotions. Strength of character carries over into all aspects of life, including the bedroom, so sexuality is important to compatibility.

If you are looking for a twenty- or thirty-something that has air for a brain, then I'm not it. If you want experience, intelligence, and substance, then maybe I am.
