I am a genetics grad student whose heart lies with the values of the people of Vermont. I love cooking with whole, organic, foods that are preferably grown in my own yard or down the street. I'm a news junkie, and the topics that fire me up the most are environmentalism, human rights, and discrimination of all sorts. I hope to be able to combine my loves for teaching and writing someday after I finish my PhD.
The activity that makes me the happiest, euphoric in fact, is backpacking, especially in the White Mountains. I tend to shy away, though, from the more "thrilling" sports, such as alpine skiing, and rock climbing.
