I have been working very hard at my job and my volunteer efforts, and it is my New Year's Resolution to have a personal life again. I volunteer for various animal charities, but mostly for a no-kill shelter called Mr. K's Halfway House for Hound and Kitties www.MrKsPetShelter.org--check it out. I took most of the pictures.

I try to keep my "footprint" left on the earth as small as possible but make a difference in others lives when I can. Every little bit helps, right?

I'm fairly active. I work out with weights several days a week, ride my stationary bike several times a week and like to ride my outdoor bike on the wkends when it's not 102 degrees. I also like to play racquetball even though I look like one of "Jerry's kids" when I do. I also like to snow ski although I haven't been in awhile.

I am an animal lover and would probably have more than just my love sponges aka kitties if I had a yard. I also love tropical fish and have serveral tanks.

I'm tall, especially with heels, so I am looking for someone at least 5'10". I don't like to feel like an Amazon woman next to my dates. I have a good sense of humor and I LOVE a good joke (and even some bad ones). I have been called a goofball (and smartass) more than once.

I've never been married so obviously I am willing to wait for the right person to come along. That's not to say that I am on this site for endless first dates either. Been there, done that. I am looking for someone who, if we should hit it off, is ready and open to a relationship.

I would like to find a person who is kind to animals; preferably someone who volunteers some of their time to others, or at least has been looking for a place to make a difference. If you are an animal lover would be great, since I'm sure I will always have pets. (Hunters, PLEASE don't write me.) Someone with a good sense of humor is essential.

I would like to find someone who is somewhat active. No couch potatoes who like to spend the entire wkend on the couch with the remote. Although I do like the usual less physical activities too like dinner, movies, comedy clubs, concerts, play, or just sitting on the patio and drinking a glass of wine watching the birds and squirrels.

I know everyone has baggage...... I don't think you can experience life without accumulating some. But please have all yours neatly stored away. I don't have kids and I don't plan on having any. I wouldn't mind if my "significant other" has kids, but I would prefer that they be around 16. I have nothing but respect for people raising kids, but I've tried dating guys with smaller children and it just doesn't seem to work. After many tries, I've finally given up on that.
