Hi! I am a pretty even-tempered and reserved guy with a clever/sarcastic sense of humor and a healthy curiosity. Politically I'm a reformed ex-conservative who's still trying to find my way around; I probably identify most with democratic socialism but I'm still exploring where things might take me (I was heavily influenced by encountering John Rawls in college.)

I'm a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in journalism and a philosophy minor. I enjoy reading (mostly newspapers, magazines and blogs) and digging through the Netflix stacks to find all the great movies I've missed over the years by being culturally sheltered. I love public radio and "Battlestar Galactica." Yes, I'm something of a nerd.

Ok, quite a bit of a nerd really.

I can't really think of anything to put in this space that doesn't dissolve quickly into cliche! I'm not really that picky, I suppose, just looking for someone who is witty, open-minded and likes intelligent conversation, even though I can't always provide it . I'm uncertain if I ever want children, so if that's very important to you right now then I'm probably not your guy (although that's far, far in the future.) Pets are welcome, though!

I'm pretty much a novice at the whole dating thing, so I don't bring much legalistic baggage to the table in that respect. I'm something of an idealist in that I hope to find a great friend and then see whether we should explore something more intimate.
