I don't suppose I'm the kind of activist with an agenda that may be typical of this sight. I guess you could sort of categorize me as an artistic liberal, you know the kind with their head in the sky. That may be confusing though because my art is drumming and my typical music of choice is metal. Personally I find metal to be one the most dynamic creative and, yes, defiant music forms out there. Considering how the corrupting influence of the all mighty record company sucks the life out of virtually all commercial music - it feels like you can count on it being the most organic. This is not at all to say I'm some metal or nothing reprobate. Reprobate, of course, but not close minded - this is after all a progressive site. Maybe now I'm becoming clearer. I've always been tempted to primarily find a pot smoking metalhead girl. Not necessarily because it's two things that I have to have in a woman, but I've found if shes not a pot/metalhead they'll all too often try to "fix" those parts of me. In other words there seems to be an inordinate amount of disrespect for these groups and its all to easy to just try and find someone in line with oneself one these two things. Bottom line is I am passionate about my music and I'm passionate in general, and it would hard to be with someone who doesn't respect that. I will say this though, what got me on this site was thinking how I'd rather be with someone who was anti-metal and anti-marijuana than a republican. And now everything else... I play poker and the Iraq war war the greatest foreign policy blunder in U.S. history. I like Belgian beer and Guantanimo is a national embarrassment. Carl Sagan and tool are my inspiration. The universe is curved!
