Berkeley Woman, Bronx Soul

I was uptown when the beats were in the village and when the hippie movement started I vowed not to miss this one. I guess there's a dreamer part of me who still believes we can have peace and justice in this world.
When others were building careers I was doing street theater in New York and Berkeley and then spent a decade in the women's health movement fighting for reproductive rights. I lived in China for two years in the 80s teaching English and loved it and have been back several times, most recently September 06. Since 1972 I've been exploring another subculture--qigong, which may look like a harmless diversion but brings me great satisfaction both as student and teacher. And wait till you hear about what really goes on....there's room for activists everywhere and anywhere.

You should care about your health and diet, have a positive outlook, be solvent. Plain old conversation is high on my list of how I love to spend time. In short, I'm looking for friendship and more. Birkenstocks okay, as are patent leather dancing slippers.
