I'm a warm, caring bright, witty, creative, nurturing, fully alive human being. I was born and raised in New York City, but I've lived in the Midwest since 1970. I love the city--the energy, the diversity of cultures and races, the creativity--and I love the country. I love being in the woods, taking long walks. I love looking at, listening to, being in or on bodies of water. My most recent adventure was a short trip whitewater rafting in Alaska, and I'd love to do more of that sort of thing. But I'm happy even in my backyard, listening to the birds. I also get to the gym 2-3 times a week. Although I make my living as an academic, I am also a playwright and a director. Theater is my passion. Being in rehearsal or wrestling with a script I'm writing makes me oddly happy. The charm, as well as the challenge, of theater is that it is a collaborative art. You have to work with other people to bring it to life. In my work, I also work with large numbers of people in ways that affect their egos as well as their hearts and minds. This, too, intrigues me. I have a full and busy life, with many dear friends, but like most of us on this service, I am looking for that "someone special.
